BAREFOOT® MAKES GREAT STRIDES TO
CROSS ONE MILLION CASE MILESTONE

MODESTO, CA (January 2006) — Barefoot®, the popular and fast-growing line of California wines, announced today that it crossed the one million case milestone in 2005. This 78-percent growth over 2004 shipments earns Barefoot the #18 spot in the popular wine category according to IRI and is a testament to Barefoot’s powerful momentum in consumer minds. Launched in 1986 with just two magnum-sized varietals, the brand’s footprints now include 26 unique offerings across four lines: Barefoot, Barefoot Bubbly, Barefoot on the Beach, and Barefoot Reserve.

“This is an exciting time for us as we hit the million case mark,” said Jake Wheatley, Marketing Manager for Barefoot. “We raise our glasses to our Barefoot friends, both new and old, who enjoy our flavorful and affordable wines. Get Barefoot and have a great time!”

For the past two decades, Barefoot has been actively involved in helping various not-for-profit organizations and charities that support local communities, art organizations, environmental and conservation groups, advocacy groups that fight homelessness and disease, as well as the gay and lesbian community. Last year alone, Barefoot participated in nearly 300 local tasting and charity events around the country and in 2006 they are stepping up their goal to 500 events, each conceived and executed by Barefoot’s unique team of ten “Barefooters” who manage regional sales and marketing initiatives.

Most recently, Barefoot was honored by Philanthropy World Magazine with the 2005 PAVE Award (Philanthropy And Volunteerism in Education) for its dedication to helping charities in need. “Our commitment to putting the “fun” in fundraising has placed us at the pinnacle of philanthropy today,” said Eric Dorton, the Southwest Barefooter.

Barefoot’s award-winning California wines are attractively priced at approximately ($5.99 750-ml, $10.99 1.5-liter) and can be found in colorful cases with the big footprint. Barefoot offers a variety of types including Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and White Zinfandel. Barefoot Bubbly sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grapes comes in Brut (dry) and Extra Dry (slightly sweet) and retails for approximately $9.99. The Barefoot on the Beach line of blends comes in three types (Red, White, and White Zinfandel) and retails for approximately $4.99. Barefoot Reserve, from Sonoma County, is available in Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Meritage and retails between $14.99 - $16.99.
