Georgia Has Barefoot® on Their Mind

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2004--Barefoot Cellars California wine sales are soaring in the South East! In an effort to complete their national distribution coverage, Barefoot Cellars identified the great state of Georgia as a key market to expand into in 2003. In April 2003, Barefoot Cellars chose National Distributing Company as their brand partner in Georgia to service the entire state, and now, with just over 12 months of distribution, sales are soaring and wine fans "Get Barefoot" all over the "Great Peach State."

In order to provide the best customer service to wine lovers all over Georgia, Barefoot Cellars invested in hiring Tim Clayton as Regional Sales Manager for Georgia. Clayton's responsibility is to work with National Distributing Company to put bottles of Barefoot in chain and independent wine selling outlets across the state. With Clayton's help, Barefoot Cellars wine sales surpassed 1,000 cases per month within six months of his hire, and are now after twelve months of statewide distribution, sales are exceeding 2,000 cases per month.

Barefoot Cellars wines are widely available in the Atlanta region; however they have invoked a strategy to "go where the competition is not." By concentrating their efforts into outlying areas, Barefoot Cellars wine sales are also strong in Savannah, Albany and other important wine consumption metros.

After proving his sales savvy, the state of Alabama was added to Clayton's territory. This added responsibility will allow Georgia vacationers to get the same type of service and wine availability in Alabama as they do in Georgia. Further, Clayton works closely with other Barefoot Cellars regional sales managers in the South East to make sure that wine fans throughout the South East can "Get Barefoot and Have a Great Time!"
