PRESS RELEASE
Barefoot® Cellars Named 2004 Winery of Distinction
SANTA ROSA, Calif.--Nov. 22, 2004--Imagine
Judging over 1,300 world renowned wines from 178 wineries. That's
the task given to the 110 judges at VinoChallenge International
2004 held in Atlanta, Georgia. From this field, Director Parks Redwine,
the Dean of American Wine Competitions, recently announced Barefoot
Cellars as the 2004 Winery of Distinction. The award is granted
to the winery that has the overall best weighted performance as
determined by the number of medals versus wines entered in the competition.
One wine among Barefoot's entries was the Barefoot Bubbly Brut 100%
Chardonnay Champagne. The light sophisticated champagne was acknowledged
as the best champagne coming out of the Americas under $10.00. Likewise,
the Barefoot Reserve 2003 Russian River Valley Chardonnay received
a gold medal.
Barefoot Cellars is a brand consumers can
place at the top of their holiday list this year and still have
enough money to purchase that Honey Baked Ham. The Company's best
quality at the best price philosophy impressed both foreign and
domestic judges enough to honor Barefoot with 20 medals this year
on wines ranging from $3.99 to $22.00. With a portfolio of 37 wines,
selling to 16 foreign markets, and topping 500,000 cases sold so
far this year, Barefoot is turning heads locally and internationally.
Hooting and hollering was heard throughout
the halls as news traveled among Barefoot employees. Congratulations,
Barefoot style, was given to Jennifer Wall, Winemaker. In response
to the awards and double digit growth this year Wall exclaimed,
"It's a celebration that just keeps getting bigger. We are
a fun family here at Barefoot who love what we do. Distinction and
uniqueness is what we strive for. Get Barefoot and have a great
time!"
