A Message From Our Winemaker: One Step Toward Barefoot Friendly Beaches

Friends,
From day one, our mission has been to have fun while making the world a better place through wine. Every day, we try to put our best foot forward and support those who do good. Through our Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project with our friends at Surfrider Foundation, we’ve done hundreds of beach cleanups, met some extraordinary people and learned so much about the state of our shores.
The more we see, the more we realize things aren’t quite like they used to be. Our oceans, beaches and waterways are in need of real attention. Fortunately, there are people around the world who are making big changes in their own communities. Whether its repurposing marine debris as art or educating local communities about the realities of marine debris, they all have something to say and we think it’s worth hearing. That’s why we decided to make a film that celebrates those who help our beaches through creativity, optimism and fun.
Their stories prompted us to look at ourselves and take stock of how our actions affect the planet. We found things we could change. We switched to compostable tasting cups and will transition to lighter-weight glass for our bottles to reduce emissions and waste during production. However, this is just the beginning and we know there is a lot more we can do.
